In fact, that’s how college basketball began! The game was played with a soccer ball at the beginning. Then a brown ball was designed. The orange-like ball that we know today was designed in the late 1950s. From American college basketball to profes-sional league, basketball first evolved into an in-ternational sport in 1932 and became an Olympic sport in 1936.
