And finally, it considers the major centers of international business and analysesexisting patterns of trade.Topic 2 Global MarketsTopic 2 explores the legal, political, and technological environment within which internationalbusinesses operate. The topic begins with a discussion of the different types of legal systemsinternational companies may encounter. It goes on to discuss (he way technological environmentsvary across countries. The next part addresses how firms deal with different regulations indifferent countries and how they manage political risk. It continues on to explore the issue ofculture and identifies what comprises culture, then moves on to consider how culture affectsinternational business.Topic 3 Global TradeThis topic discusses the major theories that explain and predict trade and investment. Itidentifies and describe lhe different forms of international investment and analyzes and discuss therole of the international monetary system in promoting international trade and investment. Thetopic concludes by examining how the spot and forward markets are used in international tradetransactions, defines arbitrage in foreign-exchange markets, and explores issues relating to theinternational capital markets.Topic 4 Trade Policies and CooperationThis topic explores the issue of national trade policy. It begins with a discussion of basicinternational marketing strategies, and examines the debate between standardization andcustomization. The topic also explores international financial management. It considers thedifferent issues that international financial managers must face, and then goes on to discuss themanagement of foreign-exchange risk and working capital.
