Unit 3 Language in usewhether/if及疑問詞引導(dǎo)的賓語從句及疑問詞引導(dǎo)的賓語從句 1. whether/if引導(dǎo)的賓語從句引導(dǎo)的賓語從句(1)由一般疑問句變成的賓語從句,用if或whether引導(dǎo),表示“是否”,原來的一般疑問句的語序要變?yōu)殛愂鼍湔Z序。如: Does the boy like English? The teacher asked me if the boy liked English. 老師問我這個(gè)男孩是否喜歡英語。Are they students?I dont know if they are students. 我不知道他們是否是學(xué)生。 (2)whether和if的區(qū)別: 1)whether和if在賓語從句中可以互換,但是作介詞的賓語時(shí),連接詞一般用whether。如: It all depends on whether they will come back. 這完全取決于他們是否會(huì)回來。 2)后面有or not時(shí),連接詞用whether。如: I didnt know whether or not he had arrived in Wuhan. 我不知道他是否已經(jīng)到達(dá)了武漢。 3)主語從句、表語從句、同位語從句中只能用whether。如: Whether the meeting will be put off has not been decided yet. 這個(gè)會(huì)議是否會(huì)被推遲還沒有決定。(主語從句) 4)whether常與or連用表示一種選擇,if不能這樣用;whether也可以與動(dòng)詞不定式連用,但if不能。如: I have not decided whether to go or not. 我還沒決定去不去。 2. 疑問詞引導(dǎo)的賓語從句疑問詞引導(dǎo)的賓語從句 由連接代詞who, whom, what, which, whose和連接副詞when, where, why, how等引導(dǎo)的賓語從句,原來的句子是特殊疑問句。疑問詞不僅起連接作用,還在從句中充當(dāng)句子成分,可作時(shí)間、地點(diǎn)、方式狀語或主語、賓語等,各自有其自己的詞匯意義。如: I dont know who bought the present for me. 我不知道是誰給我買的這個(gè)禮物。 Do you know what time the ship leaves? 你知道這艘輪船什么時(shí)候開嗎?
