Module 3 Journey to space教案 一、教材內容分析 本模塊以人類探索宇宙的行為為背景引入現(xiàn)在完成時的用法,通過人類對宇宙太空所做努力的描述強化現(xiàn)在完成時的表意功能,開展聽說讀寫教學活動。教學內容為語法的學習和使用提供了必要的感性材料。本模塊的中心話題是介紹航天知識,著重介紹了火星探索計劃以及宇宙中太陽系的部分知識。要求學生能夠了解一點航天知識,學會利用現(xiàn)在完成時描述人類已經(jīng)實施的太空探索計劃。 二、學情分析 在前一個模塊“Experiences”的學習中,學生初步掌握了利用現(xiàn)在完成時態(tài)談論旅游、看電影、看書等經(jīng)歷,學習了現(xiàn)在完成時的一般疑問句及肯定、否定的回答方法。在本模塊中,學生將繼續(xù)學習yet, already, just等詞在現(xiàn)在完成時態(tài)中的用法及have been to與 have gone to之間的區(qū)別。人類探索宇宙,是否真的存在外星人,太空旅行這些一直都是學生們非常感興趣的話題,學生會覺得有話可說。但是在討論這一話題時將涉及較多的專有名詞,學生掌握的難度較大。所以如果教材內容處理不當,會導致學生有話想說,卻無法用英語來表達的尷尬場面。因此在具體安排教學內容時,應注意適當降低難度與要求,通過開展生動有趣的活動將航天知識深入淺出的傳授給學生。 三、教學目標 國家«英語課程標準»指出,教學的開展應該激發(fā)和培養(yǎng)學生學習英語的興趣,使學生樹立自信心,養(yǎng)成良好的學習習慣和形成有效的學習策略,發(fā)展自主學習的能力和合作精神。在教學過程中要努力培養(yǎng)學生的觀察、記憶、思維、想象能力和創(chuàng)新精神。依據(jù)這些要求,我制訂了本模塊的教學目標: 1語言技能目標 (1)能夠聽懂對火星計劃的陳述。 (2)能夠介紹人類對太空的探索經(jīng)歷。 (3)能夠讀懂有關太空話題的文章,掌握文章的大意。 (4)能夠結合圖片、錄像等手段介紹對太空所進行的探索。 2語言知識目標 (1)能夠運用現(xiàn)在完成時描述人類的太空探索計劃,正確使用already, just, yet。 (2)能夠正確使用下列單詞:earth, just, station, latest, month, discover, show, over, also, part (3)能夠理解下列單詞和詞組:Mars, mission, unmanned, space shuttle, space station, billion, solar system, universe, galaxy, Jupiter (4)能夠掌握和辨認句子的重音 3情感態(tài)度目標 (1)通過開展生動活潑的教學活動,激發(fā)學生的學習興趣。 (2)在小組活動中積極與他人合作,相互幫助,共同完成學習任務, 盡情享受學習的樂趣。 4文化意識目標 (1)通過中國“神州五號”、“神州六號”載人航天太空探索增強民族意識和自豪感。 (2)讓學生了解一些航天知識,空間站的生活情況,九大行星的基本情況及適合人類生存的基本條件等,實現(xiàn)跨學科交流的目的。 5學習策略目標 (1)自主學習 能夠結合個人情況預習教材和拓展。 (2)合作學習 能夠與同學交流學習心得體會,共享學習策略。 (3)能利用網(wǎng)上學習資源查找信息,用所學內容進行真實的交際,積極參與課外英語學習。 (4)通過合作討論、游戲、競賽、單詞聯(lián)想等多種形式,實現(xiàn)在用中學、為用而學、學用結合、學而能用的原則。 四、重點難點 1教學重點 (1)重點詞匯:earth, just, station, latest, month, discover, show, over, also, part, light, real, already, yet, several, beyond, alone, cost, prefer (2)重點句型:Have you yet? Word map construction Show students a video about humans landing on the moon, and ask students to say out the things they see. Help students to answer: astronauts, spacecraft, the moon and so on. Then ask students to work in groups of four. Try to think out more related words like: earth, scientists, stars, space shuttle, sun, planet, universe, space station, air, space and so on. (設計說明:這個環(huán)節(jié)的設置旨在培養(yǎng)學生的自主學習、合作學習與發(fā)散思維的能力。學生在觀看錄像之后,說出已知的單詞,并嘗試聯(lián)想相關詞匯,這有利于學生發(fā)散思維能力的培養(yǎng)。若涉及未學過的詞匯,學生可以通過小組互助合作查找出來,改變了由老師教,學生學的傳統(tǒng)的單詞教學的模式。學生通過合作探究,自學新的知識,若在反饋中出現(xiàn)錯誤,老師可適當糾正。這些都為下面的聽力環(huán)節(jié)解決了語言上可能出現(xiàn)的困難。) 2. Ask students to answer some questions about this video. . How did the astronauts go to the moon? . How many spacecrafts has America sent to the moon by now? . Have they discovered life on the moon? . Have the scientists sent spacecrafts to Mars yet? . Have they discovered life on Mars yet? 設計說明:此環(huán)節(jié)可以幫助學生更深入地了解人類登月的歷史。最后的兩個問題,很自然的將討論的話題由登月過渡到火星探索方面,由此引出了接下來的內容,起到承上啟下的銜接作用。另外,這些問題的設置很自然的引出該堂課的重點句型:Have they yet? Yes, they have just / already. No, not yet. / No, they havent yet.) Step 2 Listening (Activities 1 & 2) 1. Tell students to listen to a piece of news about the travel mission to Mars and find the answer to the question “Have they discovered life on Mars yet?” and finish Activity 1: Listen and number the words as you hear them. 2. Listen again and finish Activity 2: Check the true sentences. (設計說明:本活動為聽力基本能力訓練,是一種聽力輸入理解活動。聽力的相關內容對火星探索計劃作了簡單的介紹,為學生能更好的理解下一環(huán)節(jié)中的對話內容作了鋪墊。) Step 3 Listening and reading (Activities 3, 4, 5) 1. Tell students Da Mings friend Tony has made a model of a space station, and now they are talking about the model. Ask students to listen and read the dialogues, then try to answer three questions: . Has the spacecraft to Mars arrived yet? . Have many astronauts been to the moon recently? . How do the astronauts go back to the earth from the space station? 2. Ask students to read the dialogue again and finish Activities 4 and 5. 3. Students read after the tape and then act out the dialogue. (設計說明:通過這一環(huán)節(jié)的學習,學生們對火星探索計劃的了解更為透徹了。而朗讀與表演對話則能使教學內容得到進一步的鞏固與提高。) Step 4 Tasks (Activity 6) 1. Show students a video and some pictures of space stations, and introduce the basic structures of a space station. Then ask students to discuss in groups of four to find the differences between the life on earth and the life at a space station. They may use “We can but we cant.” (設計說明:這個活動為學生展開豐富的想象提供了充分的空間,同時,還兼顧了學科之間的滲透。學生可以利用已掌握的科學知識,大膽地想象,甚至可以提供創(chuàng)造性的答案。這都有利于學生邏輯思維能力與創(chuàng)新能力的培養(yǎng)。另外,這個活動還為下一活動的開展作了較好的鋪墊。) 2. Information gap Ask students to suppose: one of the classmates is an astronaut in a space station, now he is talking to his son / daughter through TV about what they two have done recently. Then tell students to work in pairs and finish the sheets. (表格見附錄 Page7,Page8 ) (設計說明:在這個環(huán)節(jié)中,通過創(chuàng)設信息差,吸引學生積極參與課堂活動。在傳統(tǒng)的教學模式中,我們常用生生之間一問一答的方式,操練與鞏固句型。但由于缺乏特定的情境,這樣的活動只操練句型,而忽略意義,無法調動學生的興趣。而信息差的創(chuàng)設可以使原有的活動變得有意義。學生必須使用目標語言來獲得想要的信息,實現(xiàn)了“用英語做事情”這一教學基本目標。) Step 5 Writing competition (Activities 8 & 9) Show students the photos of Chinese famous astronauts Yang Liwei, Fei Junlong and Nie Haishen. Ask students to talk in groups of four about what we Chinese have already done about the space travel and what we havent done yet. First, students work by themselves in three minutes, then share his / her ideas with the workmates in three minutes, finally the groups show their ideas before the whole class. The one who has the longest list will win the competition. (設計說明:這一環(huán)節(jié)是一個熱身活動,通過師生的日常問答,復習了上節(jié)課的主要知識結構。在生生之間的對話操練環(huán)節(jié),通過設計一個調查活動,把合作活動設置在具體、真實、自然的情景中,貼近了學生的生活,這樣能更好地激發(fā)學生的興趣,吸引更多的學生主動、積極地參與教學活動。) Step 2 Pre-reading 1. Teach students the solar system, then ask them to look at the picture of the solar system on the blackboard. Tell them to put the nine planets at the right place.(制作九大行星的教具) (設計說明:通過這個游戲活動,將較難掌握的天體名稱以生動有趣的形式呈現(xiàn)給學生,可以活躍課堂氣氛,提高學生的興趣。學生在愉悅的氛圍中學習知識,能達到良好的教學效果。) 2. Ask students to work in groups of four and discuss two questions: Have we found life on other eight planets yet? If not, why? What do you know about UFO? Do you believe there are creatures from outer space? Why or why not? (設計說明:通過對這兩個問題的分組討論,使學生對所要了解的閱讀材料的相關背景知識有一個感性認識,減少閱讀障礙,為學生理解閱讀材料打下良好的基礎。) Step 3 Reading (Activities 2 & 3) 1. Global reading (Activity 2) Students read the article and try to find the title of the article. (First students choose the title by themselves, then discuss it with their partners. They must try to explain the reasons.) (設計說明:訓練學生的整體理解能力。反饋是要求學生說明選擇的依據(jù),目的是幫助學生分析細節(jié)與整體的差別,關注學生閱讀策略的培養(yǎng)。) 2. Detailed reading (Activities 3 & 4) Students read the article again and finish Activities 3 and 4. (First students do by themselves, then share the answers with their partners.) (設計說明:就閱讀理解而言,輸出與輸入同樣重要,因此有必要加強輸出性的活動。本環(huán)節(jié)所涉及的技能不只是細節(jié)的理解與判斷,同時還有歸納、推理與邏輯。因此,在此環(huán)節(jié)中,要求學生先獨立思考,完成練習;然后分享討論結果,總結閱讀技巧與規(guī)律。) 3. Problem solving. Students work in groups of four again, trying to find difficulties in the article and discuss together. At the same time, discuss some language points raised by partners. If there is any problem, they may ask the teacher for help. At last share their worksheets with the whole class. If one day, humans cant live on earth any more, they have to find “a second earth” in space for them to live on, what kind of planet is suitable? Ask students to discuss in groups of four and make a report. (設計說明:將課內閱讀延伸到課外,是對課內學習的補充和拓展。讓學生在探究中得到提高,這有利于學生綜合素質能力的培養(yǎng)。) Step 5 Writing (Activities 6 & 7) Show students a cartoon picture, asking them to answer the questions first, then use the answers to write the story in the cartoon picture. (設計說明:本環(huán)節(jié)分為兩個步驟。第一步是句子寫作,第二步是語篇寫作。第一步為第二步作好準備,這種遞進的方式對于英語基礎不好的學生尤為有用。在了解了有關航天知識,基本掌握了現(xiàn)在完成時的用法后,借助卡通圖片對人類探索火星進行描述,能夠將所學知識進一步鞏固和強化。) Step 6 Homework 1. Finish Activity 5 2. Activity 1 本活動主要讓學生熟練掌握already, yet, just在現(xiàn)在完成時句子中的位置,采用將單詞置于句中的適當位置的練習方式,比較簡單。 2. Activity 3 & 4 活動3,4通過選擇的方式讓學生掌握have gone 與 have been 的區(qū)別,也屬于機械語法練習。教學中老師需要給學生講解上下文情景對詞語表達的影響,培養(yǎng)學生理解上下文的意識。 (設計說明:該環(huán)節(jié)主要是以現(xiàn)在完成時的語法練習為主,要求學生獨立完成,然后在全班反饋。不斷鞏固和復習本單元的重點和難點。) Step 2 Grammar practice through speaking and writing (Activities 5, 6, 2, 7) 1. Activity 5 該活動用于訓練學生對本模塊所學動詞與過去分詞的拼寫。把動詞填空置于一 個對話之中,使練習貼近學生生活,具有實用意義。 2. Activity 6 學生個體完成填空練習之后,兩人一組表演對話。 3. Activity 2 本活動通過連詞組句的方式訓練學生的句法結構意識,對學生掌握英語的句法 結構具有一定的指導意義。 4. Activity 7 本活動有助于培養(yǎng)學生的語篇意識。學生先獨立完成,然后小組討論,達成共 同意見。語篇中出現(xiàn)的新單詞,教師應指導學生通過分析上下文來猜出含義。 (設計說明:該環(huán)節(jié)通過說和寫的語言輸出訓練,檢查學生對現(xiàn)在完成時的掌握。在活動中 培養(yǎng)學生的分析能力與邏輯思維能力。) Step 3 Listening (Activity 8) Activity 8 本活動的目的在于檢查學生獲取細節(jié)信息的能力。要求學生在聽的過程中抓住信 息,做出判斷。 Step 4 Vocabulary (Activity 9) Activity 9 本活動以策略培養(yǎng)為目的,所訓練的是詞匯網(wǎng)策略,目的是培養(yǎng)學生的話題意識。 采取小組活動的方式,討論完成本活動。 Step 5 Around the world 本活動的目的是增加學生的天文知識,除教材中介紹的知識以外,可以鼓勵愛好天文的同學介紹一下自己所了解的天文知識。 Step 6 Module task 本模塊的任務是通過學生對登月、中國首次載人航天飛行等歷史事件的介紹增加學生的天文知識,培養(yǎng)學生的民族意識,也檢驗學生對現(xiàn)在完成時的掌握。在活動中培養(yǎng)學生的主題和話題意識及小組協(xié)作能力。 Step 7 Homework Finish workbook Page 120 Exercise 3.
