It was two o’clock in the afternoon, but it was already dark, and all the houses shone with bright lights. Beth said, “ Why is it so dark? It’

7、s the middle of the day!”Simon replied, “It’s dark in the day because we are so far north. You should come in June. The sun shines all night in the north then. Thats why it’s called ‘The Land of the Midnight Sun’.” There were people on the streets and snowmobiles everywhere. There were even a few do

10、e off.Then we follow as they wonder into the forest.Most of the time,chimps either feed or clean each other as a way of showing love in their family.Jane worns us that our grou is going tobe very tired and dirty by the afternoon and she is right.However,the evening makes it all worthwhile.We watch t

11、he mother chimpand her babies play in the tree.Then we see them go to sleep together in their nest for the night.We realize that the bond between members of a chimp family is as strong as in a human family. Nobody before Jane fully understood chimp behaviour.She spent years observing and recording

12、 their daily activities.Since her childhood she had wanted to work with animals in their own environment.However,this was not easy.When she first arrived in Gombe in 1960,it was unusual for a woman to live in a forest.Only after her mother came to helpher for the first few months was she allowed to

13、begin her project.Her work changed the way people think of chimps.For example,one important thing she discovered was that chimps hunt and eat meat.Until then every thought chimps only eat fruit and nuts.She also discovered how chimps communicate with each other,and her study of their body language h

14、elped her work out their social system. For forty years Jane Goodall has beenoutspoken about making the rest of the world understand and respect the life of these animals.She has argued that animals should be left in the wild and not used for entertainment or advertisements.She has helped to set u

15、p special places where the can live safely.She is leading a busy life but she says: “Once I stop,it all comes crowding in and I remember the chimps in laboratories.It’s terrible.It affacts me when I watch the wild chimps.I say to myself,’Aren’t they lucky?’And then I think about small chimps in cage

16、s though they have done nothing wrong.Once you have seen that you can never forget…“ She has achieved everything she wanted to do:working with animals in their own environment,gaining a doctor’s degree and showing that women can live in the forest as men can.She inspires those who want to cheer the

WHY NOT CARRY ON HER WORK?I enjyed English ,biology,and chemistry at school,but which one should I choose to study at university ?i did not know the answer until one evening when I sat down at the computer to do some research on great women of China.By chance I came across

18、 an article about a doctor called Lin Qiaozhi, a specalist in women’s diseases.She lived from 1901 to 1983 .It seemed that she had been very busy in her chosen career ,travling abored to study as well as writing books and articles.One of them caught my eye. It was a small book explaining how to kee

19、ping babies clean,healthy and free from sickness.Why did she write that?Who were the women that Lin Qiaozhi thought needed this advice?I looked carefully at the text and realize that it was intended for women in the countryside.Perhaps if they had an emergency they could not reach a doctor. Suddenl

20、y it hit me how difficult it was for a woman to get medical training ata that time.That was a generation when girls’ education was always placred decond to boys’.Was she so much cleverer than anyone else?Further reading made me realize that it was hard work and determination as well as her gentle na

21、ture that got her into medical school.What made her succeed later on was the kindness and consideration she showed to all her patiens.There was story after story of how Lin Qiaozhi, tired after a day’s work,went late at night to deliver a baby for a pool family who could not pay her. By now I could

22、 not wait to find out more about her . I discovered that Lin Qiaozhi had devoted her whole life to herpatiens and had chosen not to have a family of her own.Instead she made sure that about 50,000 babies were safely delivered.By this time I was very excited.Why not study at medical college like Lin

23、Qiaozhi and carry on her good work?It was still not too late for me to improve my studies,prepare for the university entrance examinations , and …ELIZABETH FRYWhen the Quaker Elizabeth married Joseph Fry,it seemed as if her life would be comfortable and peaceful.However,Elizabeth was not content wit

24、h her easy life and her growing family.She saw many poor people living near her and she wanted to help them. One day she was asked to visit a prison .At first the prison officers did not want to let her visit the women prisoners because they feared the prisoners would attack her,but Elizabeth wa

25、s not afraid.She realized that the prisoners behave badlly because they were treated like animals.They had no beds,clean clothes,food or heating.Any child born in prison had to stay there and had no chance of an education.This meant they would probably have to beg or steal when they grew up and then

26、 would return to prison.So the first thing Elizabeth did was to provide food,clean clothes and straw for beds.Later she began a prison schoolfor the chilldren and taught the women to sew,knit and make goods to sell.In this way they able to make a little money for themselves and gain some self-respec

27、t.Her lindnesshelped her gain the friendshipof prisoners and they began to try to improve their conditions for themselves.Later Elizabeth was asked to go to the leaders of Britain to discuss how to improve the conditions for prisoners。 Of course she did not do all the work on her own.Other Quaker wo

63、全國四大食用菌主產(chǎn)區(qū)之一,中國北方較大的食用菌生產(chǎn)基地和產(chǎn)品集散地,被農(nóng)業(yè)部命名為中國食用菌之鄉(xiāng),被中國食用菌協(xié)會(huì)命名為“全國食用菌行業(yè)先進(jìn)縣”,被國家確定為首批“園藝出口基地示范縣”,被省政府命名為“河北食用菌特產(chǎn)之鄉(xiāng)”。 平泉主導(dǎo)食用菌品種有香菇、滑子菇、平菇、雙孢菇、金針菇、黑木耳,優(yōu)質(zhì)香菇、滑子菇已成為食用菌行列中的佼佼者?;庸侥戤a(chǎn)達(dá)5.6萬噸,占河北省的87%,占全國的23%,是我國滑子菇生產(chǎn)重點(diǎn)基地縣。同時(shí),野生菌資源也十分豐富,主要品種有:松蘑、肉蘑、榛蘑、羊肚菌、美味牛肝菌、雞油菌、靈芝等,松蘑、榛蘑是傳統(tǒng)出口野生菌,年總產(chǎn)達(dá)15000噸以上,可謂人工栽培與天然野生兼?zhèn)?,?/p>

64、無毒無公害綠色食品,開發(fā)潛力很大,發(fā)展前景十分廣闊。 平泉新近開發(fā)的錯(cuò)季香菇、滑子菇產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量好,出菇率高。出菇季節(jié)分別為,即每年的4月—7月中旬和9月中旬到10月底,正好彌補(bǔ)了南方主產(chǎn)區(qū)的鮮品花菇市場(chǎng)的空白,產(chǎn)品價(jià)位高,產(chǎn)品供不應(yīng)求。 平泉縣食用菌產(chǎn)品80%出口。食用菌產(chǎn)品以速凍、鹽漬、鮮品和干品四大系列24個(gè)品種大小精包裝等銷往德國、法國、日本、東南亞等國家和地區(qū),是國際最具競(jìng)爭(zhēng)優(yōu)勢(shì)的產(chǎn)品。國內(nèi)市場(chǎng)的開發(fā)潛力也較大,“無菌不成席”逐漸成為國人的時(shí)尚,食用菌消費(fèi)量將繼續(xù)有較大幅度的增長(zhǎng)。 根據(jù)實(shí)際情況,平泉縣創(chuàng)造性地提出了食用菌科學(xué)的發(fā)展模式,即“公司+市場(chǎng)+基地+農(nóng)戶”或“協(xié)會(huì)聯(lián)農(nóng)戶”

65、的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)共擔(dān)、利益均沾的緊密型利益共同體機(jī)制。首先公司在產(chǎn)前與農(nóng)戶簽訂合同或協(xié)議,采取“四優(yōu)先一返還”的辦法,公司直接與菌農(nóng)建立利益關(guān)系,即:優(yōu)先技術(shù)培訓(xùn),優(yōu)先供應(yīng)菌種,優(yōu)先收購產(chǎn)品,優(yōu)先資金扶持,協(xié)會(huì)所得利潤的30%返還給菌農(nóng)。其次實(shí)行保護(hù)價(jià)生產(chǎn)、市場(chǎng)價(jià)收購的辦法。定期召開市場(chǎng)分析會(huì),價(jià)格協(xié)調(diào)會(huì),確定適合發(fā)展的合理價(jià)格上下浮動(dòng)指數(shù),公司與農(nóng)民共同遵守。 為了進(jìn)一步壯大食用菌產(chǎn)業(yè),平泉縣政府采取了多項(xiàng)措施: l 制定優(yōu)惠政策,為食用菌產(chǎn)業(yè)的發(fā)展創(chuàng)造寬松的發(fā)展環(huán)境; l 適應(yīng)加入世貿(mào)組織需求,嚴(yán)格按照《平泉縣食用菌標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化生產(chǎn)基地建設(shè)實(shí)施標(biāo)準(zhǔn)》的技術(shù)要求,大力生產(chǎn)無公害綠色食用菌產(chǎn)品,提高國際
