The full line of transfer cases include part-time, full-time, and on-demand four-wheel-drive systems. All 4WD/AWD systems are available in mechanic, hydraulic, electric and electronic versions. Integrated Transfer Case: Magna Powertrain`s Integrated Transfer Case (ITC) fulfills the highest demands of modern SUVs and off-road vehicles. It is a system for permanent all-wheel drive with constant torque distribution. The driver is supported on- or off-road by an intelligent plate lock. The low gear enables safe driving even in the hardest off-road conditions. Active Torque Control, Transfer Case: A Transfer Case with the Active Torque Control offers a completely new generation of transfer cases which are setting standards in all-wheel drive. The uniqueness of this technology consists in a variable torque distribution to the front axle while maintaining a constantly rigid connection to the rear axle. The result is a clear enhancement of driving dynamics and driving safety on-road and concurrently a higher traction off-road. Active On-Demand 4WD Operation: Front and rear axles are constantly monitored electronically to detect any differences in speed due to wheel slippage. When a speed difference is detected, a computer signals the transfer case clutch pack to engage. Torque transfer is transparent to the driver. This system has dual range and multiple modes and is easily tuned to various vehicles. Progressive On-Demand 4WD Operation: The vehicle operates in 2WD. When traction is lost by one of the driving wheels, power is automatically transferred to the other axle. Torque transfer is transparent to the driver. Full-Time 4WD Operation: Power is distributed to front and rear axles during normal vehicle operation. Part-Time 4WD Operation: The vehicle operates normally in 2WD. The driver must shift into 4WD.
