Pedestrian deaths went down by 12% from 5,449 in 1996 to 4,784 in 2006. But among those in 2006,471 were

5、 killed in crosswalks, down slightly from 488 ten years earlier, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) says. Everything dawned on her the minute she saw him among the competitors.She stared at him, puzzled at first, then angry and finally a look of helplessness came over her.
